Code of Conduct

Last updated

In plain words

Treat other people the way you would want a stranger to treat you in your own workplace. Harassment of any kind gets you removed.

1.Where this applies

To every space we run — support conversations, community channels, issue trackers, events — and to anyone taking part, including our own team.

2.Expected behaviour

  • Be respectful, especially when you disagree.
  • Assume the other person is acting in good faith until shown otherwise.
  • Give feedback on the work, not the person.
  • Respect privacy — do not share someone else’s information without permission.

3.Unacceptable behaviour

  • Harassment, intimidation or discrimination on any basis, including race, gender, sexuality, disability, religion, age or nationality.
  • Sexual attention or imagery where it is unwelcome or inappropriate.
  • Personal attacks, sustained disruption, or deliberate intimidation.
  • Publishing another person’s private information.

4.Reporting

Report anything that troubles you to hello@lacnova.com. Reports go to a small group, are treated confidentially, and are acted on.

We will not retaliate against anyone for reporting in good faith, and we ask the same of everyone else.

5.Consequences

Depending on severity: a private word, a formal warning, temporary suspension, or permanent removal. We decide proportionately and we explain our reasoning to the people involved.

Questions about this policy?

Write to hello@lacnova.com and a person will answer. If something here is unclear, that is a fault in the writing, not in you.
